Q: What is the cost of staying in a care facility & what happens when the funds start to run out? (+)
A: These questions are referred to the Administrator and the Business Office. Our Business Offices works closely with the states Social and Rehabilitation Services and answers questions regarding this.
Q: Will my loved one be in a private or semi private room? (+)
A: Some rooms are private but there are a few that share bathrooms.
Q: Is advance directives something I need to have in place before I can come to the facility? (+)
A: No, you do not need to have them in place and we will be happy to review them and help get these in place for you.
Q: Is there transportation of residents to appointments available? (+)
A: Now a days with most people working, it's a comfort to know that take residents to their appointments and that our staff does stay with the resident at the appointment. However we encourage families that are able to take their loved ones to their appointments as there are usually forms to be signed and questions to be answered.
Q: What do I need to bring in for my family member? (+)
A: We encourage our residents to decorate their room as they did their home as this is their home now. There are a few items not allowed for the safety of our residents such as throw rugs, extension cords, etc.
Q: What is the laundry situation at your facility? (+)
A: Our families have the option of doing their own laundry at the facility or the option of taking it out to have it cleaned. There is a system to marking the clothing items. More details on this at admissions.
Q: What qualifies me for a Medicare paid stay? (+)
A: You have to have a three midnight day stay at an acute care hospital within the past 30 days and have a need for daily skilled services. If you qualify for a skilled Medicare stay then all of your medications, room and board, and therapy services will be paid for.
Q: What payment sources do you take? (+)
A: Medicare, Medicaid, Private insurances, Long Term Care insurances, and Medicare supplement.
Q: What options are there regarding private rooms? (+)
A: There maybe private rooms available for a slightly higher daily room rate. Please visit with our Administrator or Social Service Department for any needs or concerns you may have here.
Q: What amenities are included in the monthly rent? (+)
A: Basic hygiene supplies and basic cable is provided.
Q: Can we bring in our pet? (+)
A: Each case is looked at on an individual basis, but please do not hesitate to ask.
Q: What activities does the facility offer? (+)
A: All of our facilities have exciting events, outings and activities for our residents. There is an Activities Director on staff to coordinate these events and make it an enjoyable experience for each resident. Activity calendars are available at admissions.
Q: What if my loved one needs therapy? (+)
A: We have onsite Physical, Occupational, and Speech services that are not covered under the monthly fee.
Q: If my loved one is on Medicaid can She or He have a private room? (+)
A: Yes, depending on availability with the understanding that if a private pay requires and/or requests a private room you might have to move into a semi-private room.
Q: What if I need help with filling out paperwork for additional assistance? (+)
A: We would be happy to assist you and your loved one with filling out additional paperwork and providing answers to any questions that you may have.
Q: Can we bring in our own furniture? (+)
A: Yes, if it fits within your area and is not creating a fall risk. In fact, we encourage you to bring in belongings from home to create a home-like atmosphere.
Q: Are you a smoking or non smoking facility? (+)
A: We have designated smoking areas that fall within the Kansas State Law with supervised smoking for those that require supervision.
Q: Are religious services available? (+)
A: Church Services and Bible study are available at all of our facilities. Many facilities engage in social activities as well with local faiths.
Q: What services are included in monthly rent? (+)
A: Dietary department including, but not limited to any special diet needs, Housekeeping, 24 hour nursing care, recreation, social service, pastoral care, laundry and maintenance.
Q: What are the payment options? (+)
A: Our facilities do advance billing with payment due by the 5th of each month by cash, check, or money order. There may be exceptions to this if you have nursing home insurance. Please visit with our Administrator or Business Office Manager for any questions you may have.
Q: What happens if I have an emergency situation? (+)
A: We are available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
