Jackie L. Bringhurst Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who’s Who for Excellence in Health Care

LEHI, UT, May 11, 2012 /Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Jackie L. Bringhurst, Vice President of Clinical Operations Nursing for Deseret Health Group, has been named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Bringhurst has been working in health care for more than 15 years. She started as nurse aide, became a licensed practical nurse, and then became the assistant director of nursing at Avalon Health Care before becoming a registered nurse. She then became the director of nursing for Avalon's largest nursing home in Utah and was promoted to the role of regional nurse consultant for the Utah Region. Ms. Bringhurst continued to show her drive and commitment and was quickly promoted to the position of director of clinical services. After spending most of her career with Avalon, she was offered the position of vice president of clinical operations for Deseret Health Group. After much thought, diliberation and support from her Avalon family, she accepted the new challange and has served in her new capacity since 2011.

Today, Ms. Bringhurst is responsible for the clinical implementation, oversight and monitoring of the clinical staff of 24 skilled nursing facilities in Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota and Utah. She provides strategic, operational and clinical expertise and leadership to the entire organization and ensures the development of a culture of excellence. This includes the development of clinical department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures. Ms. Bringhurst ensures compliance with legal, organizational, and clinical standards according to state and federal regulations. She is tasked with articulating and implementing a quality improvement process that emphasizes improved resident outcome, teamwork and accountability. With expertise in health care administration and facility management, she provides leadership for the development and implementation of an innovative electronic health record across multiple states. Furthermore, she is responsible for the hiring and training of nurses, along with the continued training of all nurse managers. As a member of the organization's executive team, she participates in business development and strategic business planning. She also actively participates in corporate and regional quality assurance programs. 

Ms. Bringhurst pursued a profession in the health care field because she truly enjoys working with and helping people. Over the course of her career, her efforts have been formally acknowledged multiple times. Most recently, in 2011, she was recognized for her excellence in service and dedication to long term care continuum. Her other formal honors include receiving a Hospice Access Award in 2008 and being named Manager of the Year in 2004. Ms. Bringhurst attributes her success to her drive to do better, and continuous desire to improve health care quality and standards.

Ms. Bringhurst is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She is a registered nurse in the states of Utah, Washington and Minnesota. A licensed practical nurse, she is a certified health facility administrator and holds a national would care certification. Ms. Bringhurst remains current in her field through affiliation with numerous professional organizations, including the The American Nurses Association, Inc., Association of Nursing Executives, Licensed Nursing Home Administrators of America, American Health Care Association and more. 

Looking toward the future, Ms. Bringhurst plans to continue working with Deseret and take her position to the next level. She hopes to contribute to the organization's success by bringing it to the pinnacle of health care quality and efficiency.
