Doug Shepherd

Vice President of Therapy Operations

Doug Shepherd is the Vice President of Therapy Operations for Deseret Health Group. Doug is responsible for organizing, developing, directing, and supervising all aspects of Therapy Operations, which include physical, occupational and speech therapy services. He works in accordance with federal, state, and local policies, regulations, and current best practices to assure that the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times. He coordinates operations strategies and activities to maximize and optimize the recovery of every resident and client we serve. Through effective management and communication skills, he establishes interdepartmental relationships to confirm that each facility operates with the high level of effectiveness with regards to care planning and therapy treatment. 

Doug has over 18 years experience in the physical therapy field with expertise in orthopedics, neuro rehab, geriatrics, and manual therapy. He has worked as a facility Rehab Manager, Clinical Manger, and Vice President of Therapy Operations for several successful healthcare providers.

Doug holds credentials as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and his Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University.
